KFBA - Revolutionizing Fantasy Basketball
For those of you that have not received our recent e-mails, the down and dirty is that KFBA as a business is through.
We're keeping some of the leagues alive however, because we like KFBA and want to continue playing. We're not seeking to expand or market and all teams our now free (though we graciously accept contributions to help pay for hosting and stat fees). We are not seeking to bring back all leagues, as the open ones fill up we will consider opening others.
So far for the 2008-2009 season we have activated the six leagues:
1) The Sugar Ray: Every team except ChrisMcool's Brighton Truth has re-upped for next season. Draft is scheduled to start Thursday 10/23 in hamster fashion with two rounds a day (lasts one week).
2) The Greatest Show: Every team except Gunnut's Bexar County Militia has re-upped for next season. Draft is scheduled to start Saturday 9/27 in hamster fashion with two rounds per day (lasts one week).
3) The Johnnie Walker: Every team except the Bloomsberry Peg Legs (now available and seeking new owner!) has re-upped for next season. Draft is scheduled to start Thursday 9/25 in hamster fashion with two rounds per day (lasts one week).
4) The Turnpike: Four teams pending re-up, one of which is availabe and looking for new owner. Draft not yet scheduled.
5) The Travishamockery: Three teams pending re-up, one of which is available and looking for a new owner. Draft not yet scheduled.
6) The Crazy 88s: Severn teams pending re-up, one of which is available and looking for a new owner. Draft not yet scheduled.
If you own an un-reupped team in one of these leagues and want to play next year, simply go to your team page, choose "extend contracts" and go through the shopping cart process (all teams are free).
If you own an un-reupped team in one of these leagues and do not plan on playing next year, please let us know so we can make it available.
If you are interested in joining one of these leagues please select from available teams in the sign up page:

"Though Dwyane Wade suggested Mario Chalmers would be Miami's starting point guard as a rookie, the Heat isn't close to assuming that will happen but will give him a chance to compete against Marcus Banks and a possible veteran addition. Miami also expects Chris Quinn back."
He must know how bad Banks sucks.

The Golden State Warriors won't have Baron Davis or Monta Ellis in their starting lineup on opening night.
In the latest blow during a difficult summer for Golden State, ESPN.com has learned that Ellis -- just awarded one of the biggest pay raises in league history -- will be sidelined at least three months, possibly four, after suffering a severe high ankle sprain in his hometown of Jackson, Miss.

Leigh, thanks for changing that front page. How about we add just a couple of notes from the Broham or Colonel saying which leagues are now open and when/if decisions will be made to open other leagues. That could be helpful for those returning that haven't checked their e-mail. It might also be nice to be able to direct a potential new owner to the right place if they end up on page one.
Another established NBA free agent is heading overseas.
Veteran point guard Carlos Arroyo, whose future with the Orlando Magic appeared to vanish after limited minutes in the playoffs and the Magic's recent signing of Anthony Johnson, has accepted an offer from Israeli giants Maccabi Tel-Aviv.
The signing was officially announced on Monday.
Arroyo's agent, Leon Rose, confirmed the signing to ESPN.com on Sunday night after Maccabi Tel-Aviv coach Effi Birenboim appeared on the country's national sports network (Sport5) to tout what is believed to be the richest transaction in Maccabi's history.
"I'm very happy we've completed this signing," Birnboim said Monday on the club's Web site. "Arroyo is a player of the highest standard and has been our top priority for a while."
Sources in Israel said Arroyo will receive an estimated $2.5 million net next season -- roughly the equivalent of a $5 million NBA salary after taxes -- as part of a three-year contract. The deal includes an opt-out provision that will enable Arroyo to return to the NBA after each of the next two seasons if he chooses.
If anyone is in need of these late round picks, send the Nittany Nerds a trade proposal.
Looking for a late 13th (and maybe 14th)
So i've got a bunch of forwards i'm keeping, and yes, i'm taking lebron with the number 1 pick, so I'd like to trade iggy and another forward for a pretty good guard I can keep with a similar pick.
Attached is a player summary spreadsheet. Use it during your draft, if you wish.
He's sitting on the waiver wire with 10th round resign rights. Obviously that's wrong.
