It remains a strong possibility that the Central division winner will be the 5th best record in the conference.
Also, can someone clarify; as I recall, the tie breaker for playoff qualification is actually conference record, not PPG? Of course, if we can sweep the last three, it won't matter. :D
rulebook: If, at regular season's end, two teams share the best record in a division, that division's champion is decided by the following series of tie-breakers, listed in the order considered: 1. best divisional record 2. best record within the conference 3. highest team KF Average If a winner still can't be determined, the title will go to the team that has the most players with Chinese characters tattooed on their arms.

I suggest you petition the Colonel for a division change during the offseason......
We have to make sure that the division winner will come from the Drink Dead Conference. Good job by the Eagles to be on a 5 game winning streak, only to be in last place in the division.

But the question is about qualifying for the playoffs, not winning the division. Unless we all wind up with the same record, which I don't think is possible, anyone in a tie breaker for champion of Drink Dead is going to the playoffs. The question is, if the season ended today, would we go?
Right, the division tie-breakers quoted above set the top two seeds in both conferences (division winners)... The next two seeds (wild cards) have the following tie-breakers...
1. record within the conference
2. highest team KF Average
The wild card breakers are also used to break ties that affect play-off positioning (in other words, if the two divisional champs [or the wild card teams] have the same record).
And with the final three games of the season all within the division, things should look clearer soon...
Well, our winning streak finally ended, but I don't think it is an indication that we aren't going to make some noise in the playoffs:
Well, thanks to your Dwight Howard having a bad game Sunday, and Lamar Odom having a great game, costing you the victory against my Society, it's sending me to the playoffs on a high note (4 game win streak). I've opened up some space, and clinched the top seed in the Big Top conference. I just need Durant to remain hot, Kobe to get back to being Kobe, and the surrounding cast to step up their game, and I see the crown in John Birch Society's future. I don't know what's happened to Tony Parker (he was my G2), but he's riding the pine now. Maybe Ms. Longoria is wearing his ass OUT! Lucky bastard!
I had a small lead going into Sunday, but Sunday was really odd. Howard sucked, Gasol was OK, Kobe was OK, and Williams was out of his mind.
I think we've got a reasonable shot this year, which isn't bad for a team that spent most of the season in last place in our division. And, with Love, McGrady, Collison, and maybe Hansborough and Ford we have some interesting prospects for next year.
