I'll try a solo ranking in a couple weeks if we haven't done one by then, but I don't know much about the rookies. Figure Beasley first, probably in the late third / early fourth. Rose close to that.
But it would be better to have lots of input.
Also, I'd love to have draft picks issued (I know it usually takes into June, but I'm always eager) and trading turned on.
Yeah we missed our annual 4/20!
At this point I'm thinking we should wait until we have rookies. Countless hours were spend trying to get rid of Roy Hibbert last year and it just doesn't make sense to rank minus 30 viable players.
When is the draft again?
Late June, I think.
How about we get some draft picks then? And trading turned on . . . .
The other possibility would be to allow drafting people who aren't coming out, like Hockey and Baseball. Then you just have to deal with them not being available. Yeah, someone might have drafted the 14 year old Lebron in the 10th, but it's not a problem very often.
Bump
We need to wait until we know who the rookies are before holding a mock draft... And we need to wait for a mock draft before turning trading back on (so there are somewhat reasonable Expected Resign Rounds populated...)
Oh, sure, you just go ahead and be logical . . . I have a simple solution though. Just allow people to be drafted whether or not they "come out." It's just one more gamble, and a risk similar to the ones the NBA takes with foreign players, not to mention basically being what happens with the NHL and baseball.
My plan to take Noah in the 10th in the fall of 2006 is looking like it would have gone nicely so far.
A clever idea, but too difficult to implement... I'd like to avoid having every known person available for drafting - and limit our player table to guys that have been drafted or are on NBA team radars... Remember, we have to build a player record for every draftable player...
Bump.
Ok, so I didn't do it.
Still figure Beasley first, Chris Paul notwithstanding.
